This application serves as a coordinate utility designed for calculating the distance and initial/final bearings between two specified points on Earth. Users can either input coordinates manually by latitude and longitude or utilize the built-in map for automatic location detection. Additionally, it allows users to determine a final position based on an initial position, distance, and bearing.

The app provides distance calculations in various units, including miles, kilometers, nautical miles, yards, meters, or feet. It supports conversion between coordinate formats such as decimal degrees, decimal minutes, and decimal seconds, with bearings reported in degrees true. Employing the WGS84 datum enhances the accuracy of great circle distance calculations.

Access to coordinate messaging is limited to interactions between CoordCalc users and remains confined within the app.

An issue previously noted regarding pin movement has been resolved in iOS 4.0; however, users of iOS 3.0 may still experience some challenges based on screen protector quality. For optimal performance, slow movement of the finger is recommended when dragging pins on-screen. Notably, moving a pin from top to bottom should be achievable within two seconds without difficulty in iOS 4.0.
